Celebrating the END of the WORLD

On 21 Dec 2012, nothing will be the same.It is not going to be a just another regular day of your life.Because on that day you will be partying as hard as you ever can. With a beer in your hand and friends around you, you will be criticizing the Mayans (maybe abusing too) and probably making a resolution not to believe another “end of the world” story. So bottom line , NO, the world is not going to end this December.

So let’s break it up

HOW DID THIS STORY START?
It all started with the claim that a supposed planet –NIBIRU, discovered by the Sumerians was going to hit the earth in May 2003.
But it didn’t.
Also the Mayan Long Count Calendar was going to end on 21 December 2012.And we being humans, are great at completing the incomplete picture. So automatically the date of the doomsday gets shifted to December 21(Amazing to see how these things work out themselves)

The two reasons why people believe in the END OF THE WORLD are probably the following
the most common being THE MAYAN CALENDAR
and the other was Earth’s pole shift/magnetic field reversal.

THE MAYAN CALENDAR:
The end of the Maya calendar is known as the end of the Great Cycle. People find it easy to believe in that theory because Maya civilization is known for advanced writing, mathematics and astronomy. The calendar is actually composed of Long Count Periods. The current period ends on 21 December 2012.But the end of the period DOES NOT imply the end of the world. Just as your room calendar starts again after December 31 every year, so does the Mayan Long Count Period.

Take a minute and think about this:
If the Mayans actually could predict the end of the world, why couldn’t they predict their
own demise at the hand of the conquistadors only a few years in the future? That’s a
pretty huge  oversight, don’t you think?

POLE SHIFT/MAGNETIC FIELD REVERSAL (the only rational reason) Now by POLE SHIFT I mean to say-  North and South Poles switching places. This will  obviously adversely affect the Earth’s Magnetism. And YES! This phenomena can disrupt the natural functioning of our planet. Such reversals are largely unpredictable. But look at the following statement:

“THE POLAR SHIFT IS GOING TO OCCUR ON 21 DECEMBER 2012”

BULLSHITTT!!!!!

A polar shift takes 5000 years for completion!!!!It is not a 1 DAY game. And it has not yet started. Neither NASA nor any other organization has verified its commencement. So even if it starts in 2012 you will probably experience its effects in about 7000 A.D.And , I guess that is not such a BIG reason to Worry. Now, having proved both the above reasons (Mayans and Pole Shift) as invalid, I  would further like to add something important to the context of this blog.

2012 IS A GREAT BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY
Yes, it is a great opportunity to sell books, videos, information and all other  related stuff to this.
Millions of copies of books have been published and the authors have been making a fortune out of it.You can surf numerous sites on this 2012 issue and help increase their traffic, which   subsequently gets them money.

In a nutshell, I'll conclude that The World is Not Going To End on 21 Dec 2012.
So make plans for that party I mentioned above. It’s a day worth celebrating!

If you are still skeptical about this issue, then do check out what
NASA has to say on this
